Interaction with the crowd is a part of the game, as long as it doesn’t go over the top.
For all the conjecture around what spectators said to Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj during the Sydney Test and the subsequent discussion about crowds, the bottom line is pretty simple in my eyes: if the player feels compelled to make a complaint, then you can assume what was said went too far.
Although what constitutes “going too far” can be a matter of individual standards or experiences or cultural differences, there is never justification for racism, and personal abuse is, in my view, out of line…
