Ice Cube is set to star in an untitled grounded sci-fi movie for Universal Pictures which has Timur Bekmambetov (“Searching”) producing. The project is said to be in the vein of “District 9” and tackles themes of privacy versus surveillance.
The project is said to have the look of commercial event film but at the budget of a contained thriller using new technology that will allow for a fully remote production with all actors and crew working from their individual separate locations.
