Lord of the Rings star Sir Ian McKellen revealed he never got to tell his parents he was gay after they both passed away when he was young.
The 81-year-old, who lost his mother Margery at age 12 and his father Denis when he was 22, opened up in an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show about his past.
The British actor said that although he was “as close as he could be” to his parents before he lost them, he admitted there were a lot of things he didn’t get to share.
