‘That’s not what I want to play’

Storm star Brandon Smith has spoken for the first time after it was revealed Melbourne had allowed him to explore opportunities with rival clubs.
Smith, who is contracted to the Storm until the end of the 2022 season, was given permission to look elsewhere in a bid to land a starting hooker role after being the understudy to Cameron Smith over the last few seasons.
It’s understood the Storm will grant Smith a release should the club receive a suitable replacement via a player swap.
