Big businesses such as Justin Hemmes’ Merivale were among 162 recipients of a state government program to support struggling live music venues.

This initiative is targeted directly at aiding employment and support for artists, musicians, DJs and the production people behind the scenes, she said.
Tourism Minister Stuart Ayres said the $24 million program was incredibly popular among the states live music venues and was a targeted response in tune with industry needs.
These venues are incredibly diverse in size and nature of live music programming, ensuring that we are able to provide gigs for everyone in all corners of the state, he said….
