Husband expected to be charged with murder after woman dies in Fairfield unit

A 60-year-old man has been arrested after his wife was found dead inside their Western Sydney home.
Emergency services were called to a block of units at Fairfield about midday after concerns were raised for a woman’s welfare.
When police and paramedics arrived at Nelson Street, they found a woman, believed to be aged in her 40s, suffering critical injuries.
Attempts were made to resuscitate the woman but she died at the scene.
Nelson Street has been blocked off in both directions as homicide detectives take over the investigation.
Officers have begun speaking to neighbours and witnesses as they try to work out what caused the woman’s death.
