Human remains found at Hinchinbrook Island in search for missing fisherman Andrew Heard

Human remains have been located near where a missing fisherman’s upturned boat was found in north Queensland.

Queensland Police said wildlife officers located what are believed to be human remains in the search area on Friday night.

Andrew Heard, 69, was last seen when he set off on a fishing trip at Hinchinbrook Island on Thursday afternoon.

He was due back after an hour but failed to return and could not be contacted by radio, prompting his wife to call police.
