Elsewhere in Europe, countries have had to impose tougher restrictions amid a rise in cases.

Half of the UK’s adult population has now received a first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, the Health Secretary has announced.Matt Hancock described reaching the milestone as a “phenomenal achievement”, while the Government said it remains “on track” to offer the jab to all over-50s by April 15.
Some 26.8 million people have been given their first dose and 2.1 million have received their second shot, as of March 19, according to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
