NASA has released a stunning close-up image of comet Neowise that proves it survived its journey around the sun without its core breaking up.
When passing so close just 27 million miles distance to a star, many comets split into fragments as a result of the stellar heat and intense gravitational forces. 
The shots were captured by the Hubble Space Telescope on August 8, 2020, and show the shell of gas and dust surrounding the icy body’s central nucleus.
