The Christmas Star, which may or may not have met your expectations during Christmas week, will morph into a rare triple conjunction of planets this weekend.
That media-sponsored title referred to the very rare and very close conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the days before Christmas. Their alignment, which is what a conjunction is, was so close about 0.1 degree that the two planets almost looked like one bright spot.
That was known as a great conjunction.
