How to make the most of public holidays and maximise your annual leave in 2021

Let’s face it — after the tumult of 2020, we all need a proper break in 2021.
Many people have reported feelings of exhaustion, burnout and stress throughout this year, but given the uncertainty 2020 brought, is it wise to make holiday plans in 2021?
Absolutely, says clinical psychologist from the University of Canberra, Vivienne Lewis — and in fact, it can be good for your mental health.
“The thing is, people actually feel really good and much more relaxed and happy when they’ve got things to look forward to,” Dr Lewis said.
“A lot of people aren’t planning breaks because we don’t know what’s going to happen. But the advice I give my clients is not to plan to go overseas, but to still plan to have some time off.
