Inner-city spaces are proving to be fertile ground for edible gardens that enrich tables and communities alike.

Plot-to-plate-loving urban gardeners are helping more people to engage with where their food comes from. And they’re doing it by growing produce in the most unexpected of places.

In the inner-city Sydney suburb of Eveleigh, more than 2,500 edible and medicinal plants are thriving on top of a four-storey building. Clarence Slockee and Christian Hampson, founders of Indigenous start-up Yerrabingin, collaborated with Mirvac on the first ever Indigenous rooftop farm.
