How atomic clocks could probe dark matter mysteries and fundamental physics – ABC News
These clocks could, in theory at least, keep time so accurately they’d gain or lose less than a second over the entire age of the universe.

Physicists have measured and compared the “ticking” rate between three of the most precise clocks in the world to such unprecedented accuracy, that it may lay the groundwork to answer some of the biggest head-scratchers in physics.
Key points:
- The most accurate clocks in the world are atomic clocks
- For the first time, physicists compared measurements between three types of clock through optic fibre and open air
- A worldwide network of these kinds of atomic clocks could help physicists answer questions…
