Aspects of lockdown may be uniquely triggering for a group of people who already have a fraught relationship with food and body image.

One Australian hospital is reporting a 104 per cent increase in children with anorexia needing nutritional rehabilitation. Calls to helplines have doubled. A small Australian survey of people living with anorexia found two-thirds were restricting their food even further, and exercising more, during the pandemic.
