Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Jye McNeil missed his rides at Pakenham after a COVID-19 scare following a racing media lunch.

Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Jye McNeil missed his rides at Pakenham after a COVID-19 scare following a racing media lunch.
McNeil, fellow rider Damien Oliver and Victoria Derby-winning trainer Denis Pagan all attended the Victorian Racing Media Association’s personality of the year lunch the Emerald Hotel in South Melbourne.
The VRMA later advised Racing Victoria one of the attendees at the lunch had been at a COVID-19 exposure site on the day before the function.
