Home and Away spoilers follow from Australian-pace episodes, which some UK readers may prefer to avoid.
Home and Away star Sam Frost has responded to abusive comments she’s received online related to her character Jasmine Delaney’s current storyline.
In scenes which are currently airing in Australia, Jasmine is trying to seek custody of baby Grace while accusing her mother Tori Morgan of neglect.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Sam reminded fans that she’s just playing a character on a TV show and she herself is not trying to “steal a baby”.
Sam wrote: “My character on Home and Away is doing some weird things at the moment and people are angry.”
In a video, the actress then said: “I’ve just got a fresh batch of DMs, I think my recent post spiked it.
“People are very angry at me at the moment but I think I just need to remind everyone it’s a TV show. It’s not real I don’t actually want to steal a baby.”
Sam then added: “Telling me to kill my myself, that I should die things like that are probably unnecessary it’s just a TV show and I’m playing a character so relax.”
In a recent episode, Tori’s vehicle was carjacked by Nikau Parata (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) while baby Grace was in the back seat after she temporarily left her unattended.
Jasmine then made an ill-fated attempt to report Tori to the police and also consulted a lawyer.
Later, she sought support from an online mother’s forum and posted up a twisted version of events, claiming that she’s aware of a mum who’s mistreating her baby.
Jasmine’s actions have been spurred on by her grief from losing her partner Robbo, Grace’s father, and her experience with a false pregnancy. She sees Grace as her last remaining link to Robbo.
