Hitler Youth uniform among 39,000 relics in garage illustrates horror of war ahead of Anzac Day

From the outside Phil Rutherford’s home looks like any other, but in his back garage are treasures and harrowing relics that do not belong to modern and mundane North Queensland life.
It is like stepping into another world.
“The earliest items I have are … prior to 1861, and my more recent things go right up to Syria and Afghanistan that have been veteran bring-backs,” Mr Rutherford said.
