Operations officers often find evidence of foreign workers being underpaid, deprived of entitlements, and treated poorly. Operation BATTENRUN was set up to combat this unscrupulous practice. As a result of a number of warrants executed in Perth over the past fortnight, ABF officers have detained five Malaysian nationals suspected of being part of a syndicate responsible for widespread exploitation of foreign workers in WA’s construction industry.
