Hervey Bay COVID case raises alert for Toowoomba, Gladstone and Byron Bay
A COVID-19 outbreak which has forced Greater Brisbane into lockdown is posing a growing threat outside the Queensland capital.
A woman in Hervey Bay in the Wide Bay region has been confirmed as positive as one of eight new community cases on Tuesday.
7NEWS understands she was at the same Byron Bay hen’s party as an infectious Brisbane nurse.
She isolated as soon as she arrived back in the Wide Bay.
State Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said officials were investigating her case.
