Helen Reddy biopic I Am Woman to premiere on Stan – Nine

I Am Woman, the inspirational film based on the life of iconic Australian singer-songwriter Helen Reddy will premiere on Stan August 28.
The Stan original film follows Reddy’s life from her arrival in New York with her three-year-old daughter and $230 in her pocket. She went from broke, to finding success in love and music within just five years, as well as becoming a feminist icon of the 1970s.
It is the first time Reddy’s story has been told on screen.

The biopic stars Hotel Mumbai’s Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Dumplin’s Dannielle Macdonald and American Horror Story’s Evan Peters. It is directed by Unjoo Moon with cinematography by Oscar-winner Dion Beebe.
“I am so thrilled that audiences in Australia will finally get to see our film,” Moon said. “During these tough times it’s deeply meaningful to me that the release of Helen Reddy’s inspirational story I Am Woman will kick off with Stan in Australia. Not only did Helen’s story begin in Australia but so did our journey of making this movie.”

I Am Woman premiered at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival where it opened the Special Presentations section to critical acclaim.
The addition of I Am Woman to Stan’s slate follows the recent release of horror flick Relic and Justin Kurzel’s True History of the Kelly Gang, with more announcements to come.
The Stan Original Film I Am Woman will premiere exclusively on Stan on August 28.
