‘Heaven and earth’ will be moved to keep Oz Open in Melbourne – The Age
The boss of Tennis Australia cannot see any situation where the upcoming Australian Open is held anywhere other than Melbourne Park.
But, given Victoria continues to display a concerning trend of positive cases, an opportunistic NSW government has offered to take the grand slam off Melbourne’s hands.
That offer has been rejected by their Victorian counterparts.
“It hasn’t even crossed my mind,” Tiley told The Age.
“Heaven and earth will be moved to make it work in Melbourne. I don’t see any scenario possible where the Australian Open would move.”
