Heatwave temperatures 10 degrees above average coming to Queensland

“With temperatures increasing across the southern interior today, tomorrow and as we move into Wednesday, it is possible we could see temperatures records get approached or even exceeded,” Ms Hoff said on Monday.
“In the days ahead, it’s possible we could see some December maximum temperature records get broken on Wednesday, as that heat peaks in the south-east.
“Regions from Dalby down to Applethorpe, and even including Texas, have the potential of seeing the maximum temperature records exceeded, with temperatures getting solidly into the mid-40s.
“For the south-east coast, while we do have heatwave conditions inland, the sea breezes are likely to keep a cap on temperatures for the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane areas.
