‘Hear me now’: Australian of the Year Grace Tame’s speech in full
Grace Tame made a powerful speech last night accepting her award for Australian of the Year.
She told ABC’s News Breakfast she could feel the atmosphere in the room.
“And the feeling was reconnection, the feeling was hope. It was in the room, it was palpable,” she said.
“Change is happening and it’s happening right now.”
Grace helped lead the fight to overturn a law preventing sexual assault survivors from speaking out.
