A teenage girl has died of complications from COVID-19 after first reporting symptoms on December 16.
Sarah Simental, 18, from Illinois in the United States, began experiencing a minor headache before developing a fever, chills and vomiting. Her mother Deborah Simental took her daughter to get a COVID-19 test which came back positive.
By December 23 Sarah’s symptoms had worsened and she was taken to Silver Cross Hospital with pain in her left shoulder.
