Health Department ‘went against CHO and put someone else in charge’ – The Age
A DHHS official has told the quarantine inquiry that Brett Sutton was already under pressure and she advised that the controller role should go to someone who had more time.
“No he was not,” Ms Skilbeck replied.
“Would it be fair to say he was against that decision?” Mr Ihle asked.
“Yes he was, initially,” Ms Skilbeck said.
She said that regardless of who the state controller was, the decisions of the Chief Health Officer could not be “second guessed and cannot be overridden by the state controller”.
