Hawks great responds to Don Scott’s explosive salary cap claim – SEN
Hawthorn has been accused of systematically cheating the salary cap during the 1980s and 1990s
Hawthorn great Terry Wallace was really surprised to hear Don Scotts claim that the Hawks breached the salary cap during the clubs golden era.
Scott, who played 302 games in the brown and gold, told the No Merger podcast that Hawthorn systematically cheated the salary cap by using secret bank accounts in Tasmania to help pay certain players.
The Hawks won four premierships in six years between 1986 and 1991 and played off in seven consecutive Grand Finals from 1983 to 1989.
