When Meghan Markle entered St George’s Chapel in a gleaming Givenchy dress, the pomp and glamour of her wedding to Prince Harry gave no hint they were less than two years away from a dramatic split with the royal family.
But now, in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, broadcast on US network CBS, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have laid bare their issues with the family and the reasons they had for leaving.
The interview included allegations from the duchess that senior members of the royal family were concerned about the potential skin colour of the couple’s children, and that she was blocked from seeking psychiatric help when she experienced suicidal thoughts.
