There were angry and emotional scenes in Western Australia’s Supreme Court today as a packed public gallery listened to a 51-year-old man describe how he used a knife to fatally attack his 32-year-old wife in their Perth home.

Harold Carter has pleaded guilty to murdering his wife Jessica Bairnsfather-Scott but maintains at the time he was suffering from mental health issues, including paranoia and delusions.
