In brief: Not too long ago, we saw one enterprising Nintendo fan bring real-time ray tracing to Super Mario 64, courtesy of the unofficial fan PC port for the game that launched earlier this year. Impressive as that achievement was, programmer Ben Carter has upped the ante, bringing ray tracing to another, considerably older Nintendo console: the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
