Hands off: Blues’ plea for Cripps to be protected – The Age
Carlton football department chief Brad Lloyd has confirmed he will raise the rough treatment of Patrick Cripps with the AFL’s umpiring department this week, stressing that the league’s best ball hunters deserve to be protected.
Addressing the issue on SEN on Monday, Lloyd said that he regularly spoke to the umpiring hierarchy, before confirming that Cripps would be on the agenda this week.
“I think one of the reasons we love watching the Bontempellis and Patty Cripps, for us, is because they’re ball hunters, and the way they play. You’d just like to see those guys get a really good run at the footy without being impeded,” Lloyd said.
