Hand sanitiser which contained far less than its promised 70 per cent alcohol has been sold in stores of a major Australian retailing company, CHOICE claims.
The consumer rights groups said it had sent a bottle of the product sold by Mosaic Brands for testing.
It was tipped off by a customer who noticed it lacked a smell of alcohol, before she tried, and failed, to burn it.
The testing by the National Measurement Institute returned a result of 23 per cent alcohol.
