Half-price holidays: Qld regions win big in Morrison’s $1.2b tourism splurge

The Morrison Government has thrown $1.2 billion at getting Australians back to travel with four Queensland regions reaping the benefits.

Under the plan, the Government will subsidise half the cost of about 800,000 airline tickets to 13 destinations including Cairns, the Sunshine Coast, Proserpine, Hamilton Island and the Gold Coast from April 1.
