Half a dozen clinical trials will soon begin in Australia for coronavirus innovations.

Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt has announced a $10 million funding boost for six trials based in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.

Two involve ‘next generation’ vaccines with human trials to start mid-year, while another proposal being tested is 3D-printed face masks to prevent leaks.

Minister Hunt says each has the potential to dramatically shift the global battle against the deadly virus.
