Grizzly bear attacks and kills guide on outskirts of Yellowstone National Park before being killed by investigators

A Montana back country guide has died after he was mauled by a large grizzly bear just outside Yellowstone National Park who was probably defending a moose carcass.

Carl Mock, who lived in the park gateway community of West Yellowstone, died two days after he was attacked while fishing in a forested area along the Madison River several kilometres north of West Yellowstone, a local sheriff spokesperson said.
The moose carcass was found about 45 metres from the site of the attack, said a Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks spokesperson.
