A drug-addled Western Australian man has been found guilty of the gruesome murder of a family friend in a small town in the state’s Great Southern region.

Gregory Quartermaine was under the influence of methylamphetamine and cannabis when he attacked Wilfred Williams with a machete at a home in Tambellup — about 300 kilometres south-east of Perth — in August last year.
