Great-grandmother becomes oldest Australian to have robotic surgery

The advance in robotics was a far cry from her youth spent in Mount Morgan, west of Rockhampton, or even her later teen years after her family moved to the Brisbane suburb of Ashgrove.
“It was basically just bush then as well. There were only a few houses here and there, ours was the first house [built] in the street, I think,” Ms Voevodin said.
“It never crossed my mind that being operated on by a robot was even possible, that wouldn’t have meant anything to me.”
Ms Voevodin went on to have a family and a life in Brisbane with her husband, eventually having five daughters, 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, which she said was “proof of the sort of trouble two people can cause”.
