GPs are being ‘inundated’ with calls as people try to book their jabs, the doctor in charge of the vaccination programme has said.

Health services in Bolton are under increasing pressure at the same time as Covid-19 infection rates in the town are spiking.
The number of coronavirus cases in the borough is rising rapidly – thought to be driven by the B.1.617.2 strain of the virus, often called the Indian variant – with official figures detailing a rate of 228.5 infections per 100,000 people, more than twice as high as the same time last week and the highest in the country.
