The Government has confirmed the local lockdown must continue as infection rates remain high

Stricter lockdown restrictions in parts of West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Leicester and East Lancashire will continue for another week at least, the Government has announced.
People in parts of these areas have not been allowed to meet people from other households indoors for the past fortnight.
Infection rates have not gone down since then so the Government has decided it is not the right time to relax these measures.
