Gold Coast surf almost claims two more victims

Swimmers have been warned to keep out of the deadly Gold Coast surf, which has claimed three lives since Thursday, with all Gold Coast beaches north of Burleigh closed on Saturday.
A Victorian man aged in his 30s was pulled from surf at Mermaid Beach about 7.30am on Saturday.
Lifesavers and paramedics performed CPR for 30 minutes but he died on the beach.
The man’s death came hours after the body of local gym manager Jake Jacobs, 32, was recovered from the ocean by a Nine News weatherman.
