Gold Coast man bought 10 luxury cars with allegedly stolen cheques: Police

After allegedly using stolen cheques to purchase 10 luxury used cars, including Mercedes, Audis and Volkswagens, a 33-year-old Gold Coast man has been charged with fraud.
Police believe the man would contact a person who had a car listed for sale online, before arranging a time to inspect the vehicle and obtain their bank account details.
He then deposited stolen cheques via an ATM into the victim’s bank account before leaving with the vehicle, police allege.
