Gloomy skies and heavy rainfall to end with sunshine in Queensland

An emergency alert was prompted for Pimpama residents on the Gold Coast after moderate flooding in low lying properties near rivers and creeks in Gold Coast suburbs north of Pimpama.
“Residents in the area are asked to monitor the situation and consider moving to higher ground if they come under threat,” an alert stated before urging to call triple zero or SES.
However, Mr Markworth said the rain intensity would ease significantly.
“The cloud will push off the coast as well and we should see the sun again on Wednesday afternoon,” he said.
“We won’t see too much in terms of rainfall [on Wednesday] but if any activity in the morning and as soon as the trough moves offshore, we’ll see an end to the rainfall.”
