GitHub Freezes the World’s Open Source Stock for a Thousand Years – Phone Mantra
The team of the largest hosting service for IT projects and their joint development GitHub reported on their Arctic project. Plans to create an Arctic archive were announced last fall.
Julia Metcalf, director of strategic programs at GitHub, spoke about the results of the project. She announced that the open-source collection was “buried” in the Arctic Code Vault on July 8, 2020. The project was implemented with a delay due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was originally planned that all active public repositories will get into the repository on February 2, 2020.
