Cats star suspended despite coach’s confidence
Geelong forward Gary Rohan has been handed a two-match ban by the AFL’s Match Review Officer for striking Lachie Neale in the Cats’ thrilling one-point win.
Rohan was charged with striking Neale in the first quarter, with the incident assessed as “intentional conduct, medium impact and high contact”.
It remains to be seen whether Geelong will contest the charge at the AFL Tribunal, particularly after Cats coach Chris Scott had expressed his confidence that Rohan would avoid a suspension.
