Gary Ablett will not return for Geelong until round 18 after the Queensland Government denies early access to the AFL hub.

Geelong star Gary Ablett will not play until the final round of the AFL season after being denied an exemption to travel to Queensland early.
- Gary Ablett left the AFL hub to be with his wife and son on July 18
- Ablett will return to the AFL hub on September 1 with Richmond star Shane Edwards.
- Both players will not be able to play until September 15, in time for round 18 of the AFL season
