Ash Barty and a chorus of top tennis stars have fronted up and issued personal testimonies to distance themselves from Naomi Osaka.
Ash Barty says she doesnt struggle with media conferences but shes not in a position to comment on Naomi Osakas situation.
Osakas declaration that she wont participate in news conferences during the French Open was a natural, if slightly awkward, topic for discussion on a pre-grand slam media day already awkward by nature because it was conducted via video conference.
The Japanese star has cited the effects of media conferences on mental health as her reason for announcing shell boycott them.
