French actor Gérard Depardieu charged with rape — report – The Independent

French actor Gérard Depardieu has been charged with rape over a reopened case from 2018.
The Paris prosecutors office said that Depardieu was not detained when he was handed the preliminary charges on 16 December.
The prosecutors office addressed the charges after the case was leaked to French media.
Depardieus lawyer, Herve Temime, had told AFP that the actor, who is currently free but under judicial supervision, completely rejects the accusations.
