Fremantle Dockers fight back from 21 points down to beat Carlton by four in AFLW classic
The Fremantle Dockers have come back from the dead to beat Carlton by four points in an extraordinary AFLW thriller at Princes Park.
Carlton led the Premiership favourites by 21 points after an electric first term, backed by passionate home support.
However, Fremantle recovered its composure after the first break, gradually clawing its way back throughout the game.
Three goals in, just over a minute of game time from Sabreena Duffy (2) and Gemma Houghton in the final term turned the game on its head, as Fremantle underlined its title credentials in its 6.9 (45) to 6.5 (41) victory.
Houghton’s goal gave the Dockers the lead for the first time in the game, with just four minutes remaining.
