Fraser Island dingo attack thwarted after father scares off wild animal after boy ‘advanced on’

A father has scared off a dingo which “advanced on” his son while they were walking on a beach on Fraser Island.
The nine-year-old boy received abrasions after the incident at Orchid Beach on Thursday morning.
The pair were walking past a mob of dingoes when a juvenile began following the child.
“As the child turned around, he stumbled in the sand and fell over,” a duty paramedic said.
“The dingo has then advanced on to that child.
“He was scared away then by the child’s father.
