Cory Breton, 28, and Iuliana Triscaru, 31, were lured to a unit in the Logan suburb of Kingston and tortured, before being driven to the local Scrubby Creek dam and forced into the metal box.
They were sunk in their makeshift coffin – alive and screaming for their lives – on January 24, 2016.
Their bodies were not found for 18 days, by which time they had started to float. The toolbox was lifted out of the creek with a crane.
