Former Sydney Swans player Elijah Taylor fined $5,000 for assaulting ex-girlfriend at Perth hotel

Dumped Sydney Swans AFL player Elijah Taylor has been fined $5,000 for bashing his former girlfriend in what his lawyer claimed was a “loss of self control” by a frustrated, pilloried and emotionally overwhelmed teenager.
Key points:
- The court heard Elijah Taylor hit the woman on the back of her head
- Magistrate Deen Potter accepted Taylor was genuinely remorseful
- Taylor plans to move to Victoria to play in the VFL
Taylor, 19, has also been granted a spent conviction after he pleaded guilty to assaulting the 18-year-old woman at a city hotel in September, including repeatedly punching her, and hitting her on her back with a belt.
Perth Magistrates Court was told today the bashing started after the woman, Lekahni Pearce, saw a snapchat message…
